Uganda to host largest African Tech Conference

The Second annual Africa Marketing Conference(AMC) is due to be held in Uganda in September.

According to the organizers, the Uganda Marketers Society,(UMS) one of the targets is to bring together tech experts and entrepreneurs to harness opportunities hidden in the vast African market valued to a tune of $ 3.4 Trillion.

David Balikuddembe, the President noted that the AMC conference is a must-attend for marketing professionals following the availability of exceptional speakers covering diverse marketing topics which will be exploring how to tap into Africa's $3.4 trillion potential.

The conference has membership all across the continent including; South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritius, Malawi, Morocco, and Uganda, with the aim to create a more cohesive and effective professional landscape in Africa.

The conference will run alongside the inaugural Technology Information Confederation Africa, which is expected to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among technology professionals according to the Technology Information Confederation Africa, TICONA, President David Gowu.

“Africa is home to a wealth of untapped talent and potential in the technology sector. By bringing together industry professionals and thought leaders, we aim to catalyse meaningful collaborations, spark innovation and drive the adoption of transformative technologies that can shape the future of Africa,” he remarked.

The inaugural TICONA Conference will be held under the theme: “Unifying ICT Talents to Power the Continent to 2030 and Beyond”, from 6 to 9 September 2023.

The event is expected to offer a platform for leading technology experts, innovators, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders from across Africa, to exchange of ideas, insights, and best practices to drive innovation, digital transformation, and technological advancements across various sectors.

According to Elizabeth Ntege, the chairperson of ICTAU hosting TICONA notes that the conference program features keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions covering a wide range of topics related to technology and its impact on Africa, adding that it will include exhibitions of cutting-edge solutions, products and services.
