Uganda Airlines Announces New Routes

Uganda Airlines has announced the launch of three new routes, connecting Abuja, Lusaka, and Harare to its growing network.

The airline will begin services to Abuja on 12th  September , followed by Lusaka and Harare on September 25 2024 .

Uganda Airlines Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Bamuturaki  says  the expansion marks a significant milestone for the airline ahead of celebrations to mark  their  fifth anniversary in August 2024.

“The entry into this market is meant to build an efficient  and optimised regional market which will feed and finance a more profitable long-haul market for Uganda airlines as we grow our fleet and as well as our fleet utilization” said Bamuturaki.

Bamuturaki expressed confidence in the airline’s vision to connect Africa, with a focus on underserved routes guided by feasibility studies. She noted that the launch of these new routes marks the successful conclusion of the airline’s 3-year strategic plan, paving the way for the next phase of its 10-year rolling plan.

Other established routes are  Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salam, Bujumbura, Johannesburg, Dubai, Zanzibar and Lagos. The other are Kinshasa, Mumbai, Mogadishu, Juba, Kilimanjaro, 

Uganda Airlines has experienced significant growth in recent years, with a 20% increase in traffic at Entebbe International Airport and enhanced revenue growth. The airline operates 19 flights daily and has accelerated its cargo operations.
