Ecobank Uganda Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Ria Money Transfer, a leading global player in cross-border remittance services, aimed at enhancing remittance options across Uganda.

This partnership allows customers to receive funds directly into their Ecobank accounts. Additionally, both account holders and non-account holders can conveniently collect cash transfers at any Ecobank branch or through the bank's extensive sub-agent network nationwide.

Ms. Grace Muliisa, Managing Director of Ecobank Uganda, underscored the partnership's significance for Ugandans both at home and abroad, particularly those in the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Middle East.

She remarked that this collaboration simplifies the process for Ugandans in the diaspora to send money to their loved ones in Uganda.

“There is an increasing demand for seamless financial solutions for Africans in the diaspora, and we are thrilled to join forces with Ria Money Transfer to enhance the security and efficiency of remittance services for all Ugandans,”  Muliisa stated.

She also noted that this partnership aligns perfectly with Ecobank’s mission to deliver unparalleled convenience in global funds transfer services and reinforces its role as a trusted partner for the Ugandan diaspora.

Mr. El Hadj Malick Seck, Managing Director of Ria Money Transfer – Africa, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that this partnership is a valuable extension of Ria’s network, which covers over 580,000 locations in nearly 200 countries.

He highlighted the strategic importance of East Africa, particularly Uganda, to Ria’s operations, and noted that this partnership will provide even greater convenience to Ugandans sending money back home to their families.
