Vivo Energy Uganda, has officially launched Phase 2 of the ‘Kigwera Ku Shell’ back-to-school promotion

Building on the success of the initial phase, the promotion worth UGX 300 million  is aimed at doubling the number of winners, providing even greater support to parents as they prepare their children for the third school term of the year.

Joanita Mukasa Menya , the Vivo Energy ,Managing Director explains, “We noticed how much it transformed the lives of children and their parents and how the burden was lifted off their shoulders.”

“For the cars we expect that you take fuel worth UGX 50,000 and we request that you ask for that coupon to join the promotion, and for boda boda, previously we were asking for UGX 30,000 and we brought it down to 10,000 because we understand the pressure of having to put in that amount”, Menya remarks.

At the same event Night Ampurire, the woman-fruit vendor who recently was gifted with a new car by MTN Uganda, to support her work as a mother and business woman, has been awarded fuel and car service for one year courtesy of Vivo Energy Uganda.

“We also came to realize that we can add value to this story, in my language complete it. So, our job today is to complete the story of a fantastic woman that I feel is a hero by offering this young woman a year’s fuel and service,” says Menya.

Amid excitement, Ms. Ampurire thanks God for the opportunity and reveals how sections of the public were scoffing at her in anticipation of her failure to afford fuel and maintain the car.

“People were saying that I should have stuck to the ram shackled car I could manage in terms of fuel and maintenance, now how are you going to handle it. But the God who gave me the car is the same that has given me free fuel and service for one year. I appeal to fellow women to be God fearing, be disciplined and honest,” she remarks.

The ‘Kigwera Ku Shell’ promotion is designed to make back-to-school preparations less stressful for parents by offering multiple opportunities to win. Customers who purchase fuel at Shell service stations, shop at Shell Select stores, service their vehicles, or buy Shell Gas, automatically get rewarded.  The more they engage with Shell services, the higher their chances of winning.
