Fort portal get ready as Capital FM Launches 89.4 with a street jam

Preparations to launch Capital Radio officially in Fort Portal are done after the transmitter stationed on 89.4 has successfully gone through the testing period.

According to Capital Radio General Manager, Peter Mungoma, the launch is scheduled to take place on 4th June with the Capital Radio street Jam at Rukiidi III and Kaboyo Street in Fort portal, Kabarole  district.

He says, Fort portal is key Market for capital radio and the listeners have been also missing a great programming that capital radio is delivering.

The department of Leisure and Hospitality with brand name DYELO has entered a business relationship with capital radio to organize and manage the Street Jam with Bobi wine as lead artist.

Mungoma also assured the public that Security teams have been engaged to ensure maximum safety before, during and after the event to mitigate any threats.  The event organizers have also identified a clinic and ambulances and put them on high alert to respond to any emergencies.

The station broadcasts on 91.3 MHz in Kampala, 90.9 MHz in Mbale, 96.9 MHz in Gulu, and 89.4 MHz in Fort Portal and 88.7 MHz in Mbarara.

Others events arranged alongside the Capital Radio launch include mountain of moon motor rally, Tourism expo organized and sensitization of girl child neglect and abuse by Tooro Kingdom and according to Rt Honorable Tungakwo Benard, the Tooro kingdom prime minister, the cultural leaders are planning to use this opportunity of masses that will converge for these events to send them messages that are against the abuse and neglect of girl child.
