Religious leaders have called people of Uganda and the entire communities in Africa to discourage sectarian tendencies, division and hatred amongst themselves.

The call was made as the people of Rwanda living in Uganda, together with Ugandan friends of Rwanda held a cleanup exercise at Golo in Mpigi district where thousands of people have been buried in mass graves.

Every year the Government and the people of Rwanda hold activities in memory of genocide victims with a view of promoting National unity and reconciliation.

Speaking over the weekend in Mpigi district, Lawrence Kakinda catechist of Golo sub parish and mwalimu sheik Yusuf Kapaas Golo masjid Noor have urged the public to practice forgiveness and unity as a way of promoting peace for everybody.
