The shadow minister of local government also Mukono municipality member of parliament Betty Nambooze Bakireke has asked legislators on the parliamentary committee on public service and local government not to approve the budget of the ministry of local government until Government allocates funds for LC1 and parish council’s election.
She says that it’s unfortunate that Government released funds for elections of members of parliament leaving out village council elections yet the elections of LCS have not been held for the last 15 years.
The Member of Parliament says Government must find the 37 billion shillings for these elections to take place.
