Singer Nakanwagi Winnie also known as Winnie Nwagi revealed that her style and brand have given thick women self-confidence regardless of the negative energy some of the people have towards her.

Winnie Nwagi who joined Swangz Avenue after the 2014 competition of Coca-Cola Rated Next explained that over time she has been attacked by several groups of people over her dressing code.

Nwagi says that she changed the way the public used to see thick women by being highly composed in her music videos.

Nwagi added that the public judges her and frequently calls her out on why she dresses skimpily  yet she is a mother.

They used to think a thick person can’t dance, we used to see those skinny girls dancing in music videos.

Speaking in between her Cover Session performance on Sunday 3rd October 2021,Nwagi noted that her arrival in the music industry brought energy and fire affecting a  change in everything, women are no longer insecure about their bodies and  especially the thick ones.

The dance hall singer Winnie Nwagi also talked about her folk sound in her  “ Kwata Essimu ”,Sasi Kunyama” among other songs saying that the sound is entrenched in her background back in school at St.Augustine Nagalama primary school where she always performed solo Folk songs, she said that she is even planning on releasing an album that completely has folk songs.
