Former Ethics Minister Miria Matembe blamed female artists for enticing revelers by exposing their bodies which has promoted sexual harassment.

According to her, while performing, some female artists dress up indecently which she says attracts indecent audience reactions.

Hon. Matembe noted that she has seen male artists performing but they honorably dress up however females prefer skimpy attires.

Hon. Matembe, therefore, asked female artists to change, respect themselves, dress up decently and also sing songs that benefit the nation.

Several performers have experienced sexual harassment on stage.

In May 2021 Vinka kicked a fan on stage who was trying to touch her private parts, In 2018 Winnie Nwagi grabbed a fan’s phone who was trying to take pictures of her private parts and in April 2022 a fun touched Martha Mukisa’s private part as she was performing in Masaka.
