“The Girl In The Yellow Jumper” wins an award at the (AMVCAs )

Uganda’s Filmmaker Loukman Ali received another award after his movie “The Girl In The Yellow Jumper" won East Africa’s best movie in the African Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCAs).

The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards(AMVCAs) are annual awards organized by MultiChoice to recognize outstanding achievements in television and film.

The Girl In The Yellow Jumper was released in 2020 and was nominated alongside movies like The Grand Little Lie, My Husband’s Wife, Just In Time, Ugonwa Wa Kifo, and Beautiful Ashes.

Loukman took the Best Movie (East Africa) award after beating competition from celebrated filmmakers such as Mariam Ndagire, Sarah Hassan, Ayeny T. Steve, Raphael Emmanuel, Denise Kibisu Ngubuini, and Dolapo Adeleke.

The event took place in Nigeria, however, Loukman did not manage to turn up but Ugandan actress and singer Mariam Ndagire received the award on his behalf.
