Uganda Musicians' Association Electoral Committee has set 28th June 2022 as a new date for their polls. The elections have been postponed twice.

The elections were first slated for 6th  June but were called off due to technical challenges. They were then postponed to 10th June. On this date, the polls didn't take place after one of the presidential candidates Ssemanda Mansur alias King Saha raised concerns over the online process, he explained that it will not be a free and fair election.

According to the statement released by (UMA)Electoral Committee, Chairman Geoffrey Ekongot explained that elections shall be held by secret- ballot at one polling center in Kampala for proper supervision.

He noted that the organization does not have a budget for nationwide elections, therefore all musicians who would like to vote will have to travel to Kampala.

He however advised candidates to continue campaigning as well as educating their supporters on  election protocols.
