The Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) President Cindy Sanyu has advised artists to familiarise themselves with signing contracts as they work on projects with several stakeholders.
Cindy explained that while working with several stakeholders such as artists, producers, writers, and companies, musicians especially female ones are asked for sexual favors .
The King herself noted that artists should understand that music is a business therefore for all stakeholders to equally benefit there should be a formal agreement.
She also stated that due to the fact that formal agreements carry evidence, any artists can report to courts of law in case of any misunderstanding with their working partners and get justice.
