UCC unveils nominees for the 2023 Uganda Film Festival

Uganda Communications Commission released the official nomination list for the forthcoming tenth edition of the Uganda Film Festival.

The Festival that was established in  2013 aims at promoting the local film industry both locally and internationally.

UCC started receiving movie submissions for this year’s Festival in December 2022  and below is the full list of the nominees that consists of 24 categories.

Best Feature Film

  • The Passenger – Usama Mukwaya, Meddy Sserwadda, Hadijah Nakanjako
  • Kafacoh – Doreen Mirembe, Khai Sam
  • The Kitara Chronicles – Yiga Sadat, Kizito SudaisySebbowa

For  last year’s edition (2022) a number of actors, actresses and film makers were awarded including Nana Kaga who scooped Best Actress in Feature Film,Mulindwa Maynard won Best Director while Best Actor in Feature Film went to Patriq Nkakalukanyi to mention but a few.
