Swangz Avenue singer Azawi lost the best East African Award to Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz in the Trace Awards 2023.
The inaugural edition of the Awards that saw Azawi nominated in two categories took place on 21st /October /2023 at the BK Arena Kigali Rwanda.
For the Best Newcomer category, the hit maker lost it to Ivory Coast’s Roseline Layo.Other Ugandan artists who were nominated include Levixone under Best Gospel Artist category however KS Bloom from Ivory Coast won the award.
A total of three East African artist managed to scoop awards namely Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania ,Rwanda’s Bruce Melodie and Fally Ipupa from DR Congo
