Grammy Nominations 2024:Uganda misses out

Unlike  the past years where Uganda received  Grammy Awards  nominations, this 66th edition it missed out despite gaining  more than five entries for consideration in the Awards,

Jose Chameleone had two considerations for the song titled Ready alongside Morgan Heritage for Best Global Music Performance and Best Music Video respectively, Eddy Kenzo was considered in the Best Global Music Album “Blessing”, Best Global Music Performance “Ukulele Esanyu” FT Daniel Ho, Best African Music Performance “Positivity” FT Masaka Kids Africana, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance “Spread Hope Send Love Around The World” FT Various Artists.

Mc Norman was also considered in the Best Reggae Album category for his ‘Twelve’ album, Vinka in the Best Global Music Performance for her ‘Bailando’ while GNL Zamba’s ‘Hustle and Motivate’ was also considered.

On the other hand, Nigerians continued to show their global ascent in the music industry with a resounding eight artists nominations in different categories including Burna BoyAsakeOlamideAyra StarrCKayDavidoFireboy DML, and Tems.

The winners will be announced on February 4th , 2024, live from the Arena in Los Angeles , The 2024 edition will also see the debut of the three new categories namely ,Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording.
