Ankole Region Miss Tourism Queens will soon launch an initiative dubbed “Empower Her” to support the girl child

Through the initiative, several activities will be done including crafting reusable sanitary towels as a solution to needy girls and women who can’t afford single-use pads.

 Led by the 203/24 Miss Tourism Queen  Hopekins Winnie they will as well train ladies on how to make such sanitary towels so that they can support their fellow women and also use them as a source of income.

“Our initiative seeks to reduce the use of plastics and single-use pads that are dangerous to our environment”. She said,  

Besides the “Empower Her” initiative Miss Tourism Queens of Ankole have been advocating for environmental conservation and protection of River Rwizi from human activities under their project  ‘Let The Pearl Shine Campaign’.

The initiative also aims at promoting tourism in Ankole region as well as conserving climate. “We seek support from all the people of Ankole to join us, entities or organizations, and people all over the country. Together we can promote the tourism of our region and the welfare of each other,” Queen Winnie explained.
