Congolese music legend Awilo Logomba and Nigerian singer Chike also performed at the same stage at Sheraton Hotel Kampala Gardens.
Unlike the above successful concerts, Gravity Omutuju’s concert that was held on the same date flopped. The concert held at Lugogo Cricket Oval flopped as it attracted only a few hundred attendees.
Reports have it that it clashed with three other major shows: one at the nearby Zoe Grounds, the one at Kampala Sheraton and the other for Mikie Wine
This competition likely contributed to the low audience numbers, leaving Gravity to perform before a much smaller crowd than anticipated.
When he finally took the stage a few minutes before midnight, Gravity was met with yet another challenge—a technical malfunction. A microphone failure during his entrance, which included a fireworks display, traditional dance performances, and acrobatics, disrupted the show. The glitch persisted for several minutes, further dampening the concert’s energy.
The issue was resolved and he performed some of his hit songs but later paused to vent his frustration at the event’s organizer, Balaam Barugahara, whom he blamed for the technical shortcomings.
