Finance ministry releases 445Bn for purchase of two more aeroplanes

Government through the ministry of finance,planning and economic development has released 445 billion shillings to enable the purchase of the next pair of bombadier national airlines .

The secretary of treasury Keith Muhakanizi said this while releasing the 5.7trillion shillings for the quarter one expenditure for the budget of 40trillion shillings for the financial year 2019/20.

Among the other issues that will be dealt with in the first quarter include the payment of domestic arrears including pension and gratuity worthy 250billion ,wages worth 1.1trillion ,UNRA obligation for the ongoing road construction worth 585bn ,National medical stores 128billion to carter for essential medicine and drugs among others .

Muhakanizi says this has been done to provide information to the public for effective service delivery and achievement of the projected GDP growth of 6.3% for the financial year 2019/20.

He also warns accounting officers who will fail to pay salary ,wages,pension and gratuity to public servant on time that they will be dealt with accordingly .
