Give local people first priority- His Royal Highness

The cultural leader of Adhola, His Royal Highness Moses Steven Owor has urged investors to give local people first priority while offering employment.

Owor shows concern that several multi- billion companies that invest in the country import labor denying local populace employment opportunities.

He says that equal opportunities should be provided to both local employees in recruitment and enhancement programs. He says this will help in reducing unemployment levels in the country.

He was speaking during the ground breaking ceremony for Hima Cement new plant in Tororo district at Nyakesi Village in Rubongi Sub County.

The construction of this new plant aims to increase on production capacity according to Peterson Daniels, the country CEO Hima cement. He adds the project will cost US$ 40M and will be done in 14 month time. The Factory will double the production capacity to two million metric tons annual.

Speaking at the same event State Minister for minerals, Peter Lokeris urged the Hima cement to ensure that the new plant is dust free to safe guard the health of the residents.
