Football fans asked to be vigilant during the world cup season

The Uganda police has issued safety guidelines for security and traffic ahead of FIFA world Cup which starts on Thursday.

Addressing the press today at police headquarters Naguru, Senior commissioner of police of counter David Wasswa urges members of the public to be vigilant throughout the tournament by, reporting suspicious individuals providing access control measures for checking and searching all fans who will be going to their venues among others.

He adds that members of public should be more vigilant on the day of  the finals as terrorist attacked Uganda in 2010.

During the same press conference the public relations officer of traffic and road safety Charles Ssebambulidde strongly warned football fans who will be watching the matches to desist from driving under the influence of alcohol as they will be arrested. He says that traffic police has more than enough breathalyzers to carry out operations for drunken drivers.
