Government condemns the recent attack

Government has come out to condemn the recent attack of Makindye magistrates’ court by a group of alleged Pro-Kahira supporters.

Last week the group attacked the court protesting the trial of the police boss Gen Kale Kayihura and 7 other officers’ against police brutality and torture.

While addressing the media today the minister of internal affair Jeje Odong says government does not tolerate such unlawful acts.

He describes the actions as interference to the constitutional duty of courts and judicial officers.

The minister adds that government will do all in its power to ensure that such acts do not occur again.

The acts by the goons have also been condemned by the Chief Justice Bart Katurebe and the Uganda Law society.
