Government officials shun civil society meeting

Members of civil society organization have expressed disappointment against Members of Parliament on COSASE committee and other government officials from government departments such as Uganda Revenue Authority for not turning up in the meeting organized in regards to the implementation of the recommendation report made on the six billion presidential hands shake.

The meeting held at golf course hotel by groups of civil society had invited these government officials to give the public an update on how they are  implementing the recommendations after the so called thorough investigations into the mater.

Job Kijja, head of democracy and rule of law at Great lakes institute for strategic studies says," it’s awkward that investigations that also spent 6 billion came up with recommendations and it’s now one year but nothing was considered."
