HIV/AIDS burden declines in Uganda Police Force

Uganda Police has made a significant achievement in addressing HIV/AIDS burden among the police officers country wide.

During the police HIV/AIDS program established some years back, the police have managed to test a total of 134930 police officers of whom 1106 tested HIV positive and linked to health care.

According to Dr. Niwamanya Emanuel, deputy director health services in police, among the officers linked to the care , their viral load has suppressed to 86%.

He was speaking in the meeting between Uganda Aids commission and armed forces held at the Imperial Royale Hotel  to discuss  the role and progress of armed forces in ending AIDS as a public health threat in Uganda by 2030
