A maid in Najjanankumbi gave birth this morning and dumped the baby in a pit latrine. 19 year old Lillian Namayanja has told police that she threw away the baby so that she could keep her job as a maid and that she did not know where the father of the child lives.
Police fire brigade was called in and retrieved the baby alive. She is currently detained at Katwe police station.
