President Yoweri Museveni has directed for the immediate suspension of three ministry of energy officials over shoddy work at Karuma Dam project.
This follows a visit by the minister of energy Irene Muloni to the project where she found many of the supporting walls with crucks with no action taken against the contractors.
The officials that the president has ordered to be suspended include Eng. Paul Mubiru director energy resources, Eng. Henry Bidasala Igaga project coordinator Karuma and Ms. Cecilia Menva, project coordinator Isimba dam.
They are accused of neglect of duty and face arrest and prosecution.
The president has also warned that the contractors on the two projects also risk being expelled from Uganda.
