Immigration boss asks boarder town residents to stay away from truck drivers

Ugandans operating business in boarder towns of Elegu and Busia have been warned to stay away from hundreds of truck drivers who have stayed longer in the town due to delays in clearance.

The warning comes from immigration department spokesperson Jacob Simiyu who says they are working on ensuring the truck drivers leave as soon as possible.

Simiyu further advised the residents to stay away and also restrict transacting business with them to avoid spread of Corona virus.

Simiyu also says the truck drivers delay on boarder point has been due to bad network and advised Ugandans not to transact business with truck drivers directly or use mobile money in inevitable cases.
