Rebecca Kadaga has hinged the agenda of the tenth parliament on the fight for good governance, accountability and service delivery.

Delivering her maiden speech shortly after returning unopposed as speaker of parliament this morning, Kadaga noted that these are important principles which legislators must promote for the good of the country.

She also said Parliament will continue to connect with the public, through its outreach programme.

She also apologised to the legislators in advance about the problems of space given the high number of legislators in the tenth parliament, which is comprised of 426 MPs.

Kadaga also gave political parties up to Wednesday next week to provide a list of their party whips, who will be able to participate in the constitution of committees, which handle Parliament work.

The business committee, chaired by Kadaga, is expected to sit soon to draft business for the 10th Parliament, in consultation with the government.
