Kazinda pushed back to Luzira for five years

The Anti-corruption court judge Lawrence Gidudu has once again sentenced  the former Principle Accountant in the Office of the Prime Minister  Geoffrey Kazinda  to five years in Luzira prison over corruption.

Kazinda was this morning found guilty  of conspiring with 3 others to  defraud government of 316 million shillings worth fuel drawn by non-existent OPM vehicles that were meant to carry relief to disaster victims.

Kanzinda's co-accused have however been handed a fine sentence  ranging from 10   to 50 million shillings on grounds that they Kazinda who was the master planner crafted  the fraud plot  which the three co accused   jumped on under bandwagon .

The former clerk from the OPM Beatrice Kezabu has been orders to refunded the most money at 50 million shillings  on  grounds that she  facilitated the said theft by entering false entries in fuel Order forms well knowing that no fuel had been drawn .

Shamim Masembe had Hussein Katumwa have been  sentenced to a fine of ten million shillings each  for helping Kaiznda realise the fruits of his crimes as they let their fuel station former Total  Ntinda to be used as the conduit of the theft.

The judge has  however ordered that the three Will serve a one jail term if  they fail to refund the money.

The judge has also bared the convicts from holding any public  office for a period  of  10 years  and compensate  government the stolen funds.
