Kenyans embrace new SGR

As Uganda waits for Kenya to complete the second phase of its obligation to construct the Standard Gauge Railway to the boarder,in Kenya the number of people booking the use of the Kenya standard gauge railway has doubled.

These are people in Kenya that use the Mombasa route mainly businessman from Uganda,Nairobi and other east African countries that have transactions at Mombasa port and other businesses as well Kenya has purchased four new engines that are comfortable ,luxurious and faster.Nairobi to Mombasa now takes you less than six cool Hours in a train compared to the road where you have to 8 Hours .

The Mombasa–Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) connects the port city of Mombasa to Kenya’s capital city Nairobi.

The new railway has since replaced the parallel and colonial Uganda Railway that was originally built during the British colonial rule in the 19th century. Under the East African Railway Master Plan, the Mombasa–Nairobi SGR will link up with other standard gauge railways that are being built in East Africa. Construction is already under way on Phase II of the Kenya SGR, which will extend the railway to the Uganda border by 2021.
