Models living with albinism outcry the discrimination in the fashion industry

Models living with albinism have complained about the discrimination in the fashion industry that hinders them from being  fully active.

One of the models living with Albinism Arinaitwe Elijah alias Elijah Yunik who also won Mr Ability Uganda 2023/24 explained that , on many occasions they are denied endorsements due to their nature and even when they are endorsed ,they are under paid. 

Yunik Who is as well the Chief Executive Officer for Yunik  Academy of Dance and Models added that because of their unique skin color,they are restricted from putting on certain outfits which  badly affects them to the extent of making them quit fashion.

He stated that they lack enough support including financial,Emotional among others.Instead of supporting them, the public rather discourages persons living with albinism which affects them."Yunik noted"

He asked government to fund projects for people living with albinism ,saying that ,that will ease the improvement of their fashion careers.

Yunik also urged  government to continue sensitizing the public on the dangers of discrimination if it's to achieve equal development among Ugandans.

He Advised his fellows to continue loving and appreciating their unique nature saying that, it  will enable them succeed in life.
