Minister of Internal affairs investigating authenticity of assassination list

The ministry of Internal Affairs is investigating the authenticity of the list naming the high profile people who were named among those to be assassinated .

Speaking to the media at parliament, the state minister for internal affairs Obiga Kania said that Government will do all  it takes to protect its citizens as police investigates the origin of the document which was dropped at the home of Rubaga south MP Moses Kasibante.

The list has 16 names including Buganda Prince Kasim Nakibinge, Muslim cleric sheik Mahmud Kibatte, Kampala lord mayor Erias Lukwago, Kampala central MP Mohammed Nsereko,Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa, Buganda primer Peter Mayiga,Kyadodo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi, Rubaga South MP Moses Kasibante , Ntungamo municipality MP Gerald Karuhanga Kampala minister Betty Kamya and government chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa among others.

The list comes out just a month after MP Gerald Karuhanga had received death threats.

Recently some MPs though not on the list such as William Nzoghu busongora south and Connie Galiwango also reported to parliament over people who were trailing them.

In June this year  Arua municipality MP  Ibrahim Abiriga was murdered a few meters away from his home after he had also complained off death threats.

Former Buyende District Police Commander Muhammad Kirumira was also shot dead last month after complaining   for long that his life was in danger.

Minister Obiga has also asked the public to work with security organs to wipe  out the panga welders whom he referred too as mere thugs who live within the communities.
