President Museveni has commissioned 1151 road construction and maintenance equipment to be given to  various districts in the country.
While speaking at the function on Friday morning, Museveni says it is high time local governments phase out costly tenders and start working on their own roads.
He warned the beneficiary districts against misusing the equipment.
The UGX 151 billing equipment purchased from Japan include graders, water bowsers, compactors and dump trucks to be given to the 121 districts in the country including the new ones.
The said equipment were purchased with funds from the Japanese bank of International cooperation (85%) and Ugandan government (15%)
