New website to help curb corruption in Uganda

Authorities in Kumi district have commended civil society organizations for working closely with Uganda government in fighting corruption.

According to Ekungu Simon Peter, the Nyero sub county chief, if the civil society organizations continue with such trend, it will improve more service delivery and development of the nation.

While speaking at the I PAID A BRIBE campaign organized by Action Aid, Ekungu  gave the gathering insights on how should use the new website Ipaidabribe.or.ug  to report cases of corruption as well as obtaining skill on fighting corruption using information. He however noted that more partners are needed to work together with government to put an end on corruption because it’s the role of each citizen to say no to corruption.

Phillip Kabuye, the IPAID ABRIBE website Manager at Action Aid Uganda also said as an organization, they want to use this website to give opportunity to each and everybody who has access to internet to report on corruption cases everywhere they are.

Kabuye added that, since the website was lunched, they have reached thousands of Ugandans  country wide including police heads and officers while sensitize them on  using  this new technology to save the country from corruption.
