Uganda‘s renown banker Sam Owori has been elected the president of rotary international.
Owori a member of Kampala rotary club Kampala has been selected by the panel of 17 past directors of rotary international from the 30 zones of the world.
Owori will assume this office on October 1st this year if no one petitions to oppose his selection.
He will be the second African to take up this post.
While meeting his fellow Rotarian in Kampala today, Owori asked all them to support him, saying this is not a challenge for only Uganda but for the all of the African continent to change the attitude that Africans cannot perform.
Owori is a renowned banker who has served in various banking institutions.
