Two companies to lose their license.

Uganda National Health User’s/consumer’s organization, A local Health rights organization, is calling the ministry of trade to withdraw it’s of six tobacco companies last week to facilitate and support the growing of Tobacco in the country.

Talibita Moses, the legal officer at this organization says, what the ministry did is contrary to the Tobacco Act 2104 that prohibits the government or any government institution to promote, support or endorsing any activity related to Tobacco growing in the country due to its negative effects on environment.

On Monday last week, Ministry of trade licensed Six (6) Tobacco companies to begin operations for the 2017 Crop Season in the country, the first of its kind.
