Curfew defaulters pleads guilty, remanded

City Hall Court has remanded five people to Kitalya government prison after pleading guilty to defying a presidential directive on COVID-19 by moving during curfew hours.

They include 20 year old Sserunkuma Paul, 22 year old Mugisha Amon,30 year old Norman Mustafa,26 year old Talemwa Gideon, all residents of Kiwatule and 28 year old Ochen Michael,  a resident of Kulambiro in Kampala district.

 They were arraigned before a grade one magistrate Valerian Tuhimbise  who charged them with disobedience of unlawful orders and accepted the Charefe.

The magistrate then convicted them on their own plea of guilty and Remanded them until the 30th of this month when they will re-appear for sentencing. 

Prosecution states that the suspects, on the 19th of this month at Kiwatule,   in Kampala district, disobeyed presidential directives by moving at night during curfew hours.
