shocking facts about Kampala's collapsed building

Kampala mayor Erias Lukwago says that the building that collapsed killing three people on site at Kisenyi had no building plan.

Lukwago  made a site visit at the scene of Sunday's accident and he mentioned that building materials were not suitable for a stored building.

Lukwago has threatened serious action against KCCA officials at the central division who responsibility was supervise the construction of the building and detect any form of danger to the public.

Two girls ,one aged about 8 years and and another about 4 years have been rescued alive from the rubble and refereed to Mulago hospital.Total dead bodies so far recovered - 3 as the search for missing persons by Police,Uganda Red cross,and volunteers continue with rescue efforts at the scene.

The Rescued children include; Nandawula Marklin 9 years - Female. Nakimbugwe Marion 5 years old - Female while the mother has been found and identified as Akinyi Sarah.

The building owned by Kampala business man  Haruna Kigundu that was  under construction  collapsed on Sunday near the Bus terminal after several warnings from  traders who feared it would collapse because of the nature of construction.
