The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has challenged the newly appointed leaders including Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago to stay strong and focused on party ideology that will help to change the power of this country.

Lukwago was recently appointed as Deputy President Central Region replacing Owekitibwa Joyce Ssebugwawo who is now State Minister for Information and National Guidance in the central government led by the National Resistance Movement party.

Anna Adeke the Woman MP Soroti District was appointed  Deputy President Eastern region, while Moses Okwera Mugisha is the new Deputy Secretary for Agriculture. Speaking at the   inauguration ceremony at party headquarters in  Najjanankumbi Patrick Amuriat Oboi the party President said  “FDC is not a party for merry making , it's here to take power of this country so any incumbent must walk the talk of the party and put his or her interests behind”. He asked the new leaders to use their respective offices to strengthen the party despite the presence of internal and external criticisms.

He noted that the new changes are aimed at strengthening the party and that the crossing of staunch FDC members to the ruling NRM will not detract their ambitions.

Mayor Lukwago has pledged full commitment to the party's agenda as well as uniting all change seeking forces to deliver change of the leadership of Uganda.
