MPs demand for a status report on the progress of Lubowa specialized hospital.

Kazo county MP Dan Kimosho demand that the ministry of health bring a status report  to Parliament  on the progress of Lubowa Specialized Hospital so that the country can know .

 The MP also needs the ministry of finance to also present a report on the absorption of the loan and how it is performing in terms of the country's target  to have this hospital.

In 2019 Parliament approved 13 trillion shillings loan for the private investor to construct this hospital but some MPs mainly  from the opposition questioned the procurement process for the investor and why government was using public funds to finance a private enterprise.

The MP now says that the hope for the country to have specialized health services is premised on  Lubowa hospital yet  the construction has stalled at the  foundation stage.

Kimosho  says the last time the MPs and minister of the health tried to check on the progress they were bounced at the gate by the security operatives.

The specialized hospital is being constructed under a joint partnership between Finasi and Roko construction limited and when completed it will focus on the treatment of Non communicable diseases that have  been forcing Ugandans to seek treatment abroad.
