Education Consultants have asked government to organize a practical  training program for teachers before schools resume to empower them teach after recovering from the Covid period.

One of the Education Consultants in the country Fagil Mandy says that these teachers are from the shocks of the pandemic therefore they have to first be prepared psychologically both on the content and also giving them new methods of teaching if they are to effectively teach students.

We are not resuming school business as usual so we need to train teachers.

Fagil added that Both teachers and students are psychologically messed up, getting retrained will enable teachers get changed ways of  handling students while teaching them.

He also  noted that government should make research on how many teachers are to come back to the teaching profession being that some of them may have quit the profession following the pandemic and then they plan for a recruitment program so that students don’t lack teachers to teach them.

However Fagil encouraged the government to set new conditions for recruitment of teachers so that many get attracted to take over the available jobs.

Being that the COVID19 pandemic has hard hit the Education sector, many may not want to go back to teaching opportunities even when they are qualified that’s why the government should consider bringing in new conditions to persuade them.
