State House has assured residents of kasanda and mubende of protection from violent land grabbers who are carrying out illegal land evictions.

This follows the arrest of a prime suspect Rwabunyolo Mugume David involved in a violent land eviction where a 70 year old widow and her family were evicted after being attacked by panga wielding men.

Flanked by the assistant commissioner and commander of operations, Uganda Police Denis Namuwooza, Col. Edith Nakalema the head of state House anti corruption unit visited the 70yr old widow, Edrauy Nduhukire and her 9 children who were evicted Manyo-goseka village in Kassanda District.

The violent incident has since led to the arrest of the DPC Kassanda & the OC Manyagoseka village for alleged negligence of duty.

The arrest also involved some land dealers who had attended the village meeting though many of them slowly disappeared from the meeting and scattered in different directions.Nakalema has warned of decisive action against officers in government Agencies that are mandated to protect & serve communities for neglecting their responsibilities.

The prime suspect Rwabunyolo Mugume David  has since been charged with several counts  and remanded, however Police has heavily maintained presence in the village to protect the 70yr old widow Edry Nduhukire & her Children who were ordered to return to their home as  investigations and hunt for the machete wielding men continues.
