Bar owners, and revelers to be arrested for flouting COVID-19 guidelines

The inspector general of police Martin Okoth Ochola has directed the force  commanders to arrest bar owners, employees and revelers flouting the closure of bars;  one of the guidelines issued by the president to control the spread of Corona Virus Disesea-COVID-19.

The police chief has  also ordered for the confiscations of all items found in bars operating illegally.

According to the IGP, tables, music systems, money, fridges, seats and all other items used in these bars should be seized as exhibits to curb the increasing opening of bars before the promised January 2022 full reopening of the economy.

On Saturday during the national address, President Yoweri Museveni said that all schools and the whole economy will fully reopen in January next year whether people are vaccinated against Covid-19 or not.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson says that RPC, DPC and other commanders at all levels  whose territories will be found with operating bars will be arrested as per the IGP's directive.

The IGP ordered all territorial commanders to intensify, curfews starting Monday evening.
