Restructuring at Makerere University Business school causes panic over space

In a bid to create space for lecturers Makerere university business school has announced a swift restructuring and administering of office space within the university.

MUBS is a semi-autonomous business teaching institution of Makerere University, however, the school has been having challenges in spacing for lecturers.

The University administration has however taken a painful decision to convert staff houses into lecture halls and also find accommodation for other school activities.

The decision comes in as MUBS Honors and receives first female professor Laura Oraba after emerging as the best student in the BBA in accounting option.

Makerere University Business School principal Prof Waswa Balunywa says part of the restructuring exercise includes shifting some lectures from physical interface to online learning.

He explains that once full-scale teaching resumes, the university will not fully go to student interface with lectures.

He says some lectures shall be online and urged students and parents to embrace the positive impact of online learning.
