Man killed, body dumped in a Septic Tank

Police in Katwe is investigating the murder of a 30-year-old man whose body was dumped in a septic tank.

The deceased has been identified as Turyasingura Peter, a resident of Kabowa Church zone in Rubaga division.It is alleged that the deceased went missing on 26th, January and the matter was reported at Katwe police station.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesman preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased was strangled before being dumped in septic tank.

He adds that police arrested Muhangi Norman and Naome Tumwine the owners of the an unfinished house where the deceased was sleeping to help in investigation.

The body of the deceased was found decomposing by the time the fire and emergency rescue services retrieved it from the septic tank and later conveyed to the city mortuary Mulago.

Postmortem was done and it has been ascertained that he was strangled to death first before he was dumped in the septic tank.

According to Luke, they have taken statements from the suspects and the two will appear in court on murder charges after investigations. Police is also on a hunt for Aduku Geoffrey a security guard at the unfinished house who disappeared a day before the deceased's brother reported the matter at Kabowa police

He further adds that there is another gentleman who disappeared from the same unfinished house around 2020 and up to now has never been seen and that there is suspicion that something could have happened to him and the suspects could be behind it.
