Hospitals have been urged to emphasize evidence based diagnosis which in turn would lead to quality results and proper medication to patients.

The call was made by Dr. Susan Nabadda, the commissioner laboratory services in the ministry of health during the launch of the C –lab, a modern laboratory at International hospital Kampala (Namuwongo branch).

Dr. Nabadda says wrong diagnosis results lead to wrong treatments which in the end are costly to patients who sometimes lose their lives or have to pay more money to treat the illness.

She urged hospitals to embark on ensuring that results from their laboratories are comparable to international standards, noting that this way, the public will have trust in them.
