A mother who video went viral on social media beating his son has survived jail, after Court sentenced her to a warning.
30 year old Apolot Deborah pleaded guilty to one count of causing grevious harm to her own biological 10 year old son before Cityhall court grade one Magistrate Nabirye Fatuma.
She was then warned never to never harm her son Imait Henry again instead of being jailed.
The Magistrate was lenient on her since she was remorseful and never wasted Court's time by pleading guilty to the said offence, instead of taking court into a lengthy trial.
Court had heard that on the 9th/May 2019, Apolot a a House wife of Dungu zone in Kisaasi Nakawa division caused grevious harm to ImImait.
She was arrested by Kira Police after a video, a neighbour recorded of her severely beating up her son went viral on social media.
Neighbour's revealed that, the said incident was not the first and that Apolot has a habit of torturing her son when she and her partner had issues.
The residents further revealed that incidents of Domestic Violence were common in the said family, which might have forced the man to get some space from her.
In the said video, Apolot was captured beating up the helpless child including lifting him up and banging him at glass door as she tried to force him inside the house.
