The Government of Uganda in collaboration with the Uganda Red cross society have held an Ambulance drive to raise awareness about the use of toll-free numbers to call for ambulances.

This is due to increased accidents across the country where many people get injured and lose lives without getting assisted yet they could be saved.

The Vehicles are fully equipped with the state of the art medical facilities that can enable aid/Health workers to conduct emergency services before a victim arrives at a Health facility.

Uganda Red cross is currently managing close to 22 Government Ambulances which are centrally located and maintained by the institution.

The drive is a pilot that is expected to be rolled out in other parts of the country.
