Ebola Outbreak--Ministry of Health sets new rules as it intensifies sensitization campaigns to prevent infection.

The Ministry of health has intensified sensitization campaigns against the Ebola Virus in a bid to control the Ebola outbreak in the country.

Currently the ministry has registered 95 confirmed cases the no of death standing at  28 slightly beyond 30 percent case fatality.

Those who have recovered and discharged are 34 with 33 admissions, with Mubende still holding a high record of 60 cases out of which 21 hailing from the hot spot of  madudu sub county.

Other districts on a tight watch are kasanda with 9 cases Kampala 12 cases rubaga with 11 and makindye 1.

 Wakiso district which is literally part of Kampala is having three cases with one in Nansana and two cases registered in seguku

Ebola can be transmitted through direct physical contact,body fluids,urine,sweat of an infected person.

It is also through using skin piercing instruments, getting into contact with animals and persons that have died from ebola.

The Director General Health services at the Ministry of Health Dr Henry Mwebesa says all cases being managed are those that have been traced from the hot spots of kasanda and mubende.

Dr. Henry Mwebesa says explains that no contacts will be allowed to isolate at home as government has set up quarantine centers  to manage contacts for 21 days.
