The Ministry of Health is advocating for legislation to make it mandatory for communities across the country to carry out general cleaning in communities in a bid to reenergize the fight against malaria.

This follows a reported increase of malaria in various communities that has caused an influx of patients into public health facilities.

Part of the legislation will require all school going children in public schools to have a treated mosquito net and implore schools to fumigate the schools and the surrounding.
