Two Foreigners Arrested for Trying to Obtain Ugandan Passport

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has  detained three foreigners and a  Uganda national  for attempting to fraudulently get Ugandan Passports.

According to Simon Peter Mundeyi the Ministry's spokesperson the three foreigners were arrested from the passport office at the Ministry of Internal affairs headquarters.

Addressing a news conference today morning at Police headquarters Naguru,

Mundey identified the foreign nationals arrested as  Ishime Gadyeri alias Ayime who is an artist and a Burundian National who had stated that he was  Ugandan National of a Munyakole tribe from Kiruhura district,  a Nigerian National dealing in computer Saudas David Joshua who  claimed to be  a Ugandan National in the names of Damba Joshua and was arrested together with  Sseruwagi Gibson a Ugandan National who was a middle man  helping them to get documents .

The  the third foreign suspect is a Rwandan National identified as Kaliisa Sam a resident of Kitemu who had earlier obtained a Ugandan National Identity card by false means.

Mundeyi said  that Kaliisa Sam was arrested and detained at Jinja Road police custody but  managed  to escape and they are hunting him .

Mundeyi  asked Ugandans to desist from being used in helping foreigners to obtain documents like passports because it will land them in trouble as it happened to a one Sseruwagi who will face serious cases.
